I do re-iterate to all of my students at Combat Self Defence and Filipino Kyusho Noosa that they need to be TOUGH and determined to stop an attacker in their tracks from trying to knock your head off your shoulders.
Don’t try to be flash…the attacker is throwing FAST multiple punches at you so you need to rely on your gross motor training skills that you have learned during training so that you do not have to think about what to do to defend yourself.
You just DO it!
The first thing you do is to avoid the punches or if you are really sharp which I hope you are..then you intercept it.
In other words; you get there FIRST with a pre-emptive move/strike ensuring that you are in a position to do so.
It all falls back to incorporating the PRINCIPLES.
As my students know, the first 4 are:
PLUS you need the INTENT and aggressive mind set to ensure that the attacker goes down and not you so that you can confidently walk away.
To train another day.
You need to stop the attacker as fast as possible and not allow him or her to come back at you.
Close them down, be direct, be determined, be powerful and fast.
Look after yourselves and if you are local and/or one of my Combat Self Defence students then have a look at my next course here:
